Coronavirus Affecting Daily Life
Whether it’s making us unable to go to work, get the groceries we need, or go back to school, it’s safe to say that the Coronavirus has successfully thrown a wrench into our daily lives and routines.
Not only that, it is causing extreme worry for most people; People who rely on meals and housing from their academic institutions, which are now closed; Parents with young children that are watching TV all week instead of learning; People who can’t find what they need in the supermarket because of panic buying; People with mental health issues who are suffering even more because of social distancing.
During these times it is important for the world to come together to spread positivity and help make everyone’s life easier and less stressful. And that is exactly what some people, institutions, companies are doing.
Several public schools are still providing meals within limited hours to students. Baltimore City Public Schools are providing breakfast and lunch to students available for pickup. Buffalo Public Schools are doing the same during weekdays. Click here for a list of participating schools.
Public food pantries are becoming a hit in the community and are a great way to help those in need. The food pantry outside Parkside Lutheran was kindly filled with food and toilet paper by strangers.
Several companies are coming together to help college students affected by the recent closures. U-Haul is offering 30-days of free storage to students, Adobe is offering free creative services to students until the end of May, and Moog and Korg are making their music applications free so musicians can create at home.
It’s important to be aware of everyone around you during this time. Stay inside if you can, if you go out, take precautions to protect yourself and others. Stay kind and stay safe!
