Last summer, NYS Assemblyman Sean Ryan announced that Grant street became part of a revitalization project to reshape parts of the city and make them nicer and safer to live in.

The project received grants from the Oishei Foundation and the Buffalo Billion 2 fund, and a $17,000 donation from the office of Councilman David Rivera, along with several other funding parties.

The main focus of the Grant Street face-lift will be making walkways safer and more accessible, since a majority of those who live in the area walk or bike rather than drive.

They makeover will also include updating storefronts and making the area more accessible for small businesses and overall improve the streetscape of Grant Street.

If you’d like to take part in the redesign, Ryan and Rivera, along with GObike Buffalo, will be hosting a public meeting on Feb. 27 to discuss to future of the street. The meeting will be held from 6-7:30PM at 429 Plymouth Ave, the former Buffalo Public School 77.
