On Tuesday, Community Missions will celebrate our sixth annual #GivingTuesday event! Each year, we have more than 100 volunteers that take some time during the holiday season to support the Community Missions. This year will be no different, as students from Niagara University’s Vincentian Scholars program will kick off the day at 6:30 a.m. by preparing breakfast at the Mission, followed by high school students from LYNC, Leadership Niagara’s high school program, arriving at 9 a.m. to learn about servant leadership, then put it into action by serving lunch, wrapping presents, and sorting donations.

Also, be sure to tune in bright and early Tuesday morning, as both WIVB-4 and WKBW-7 are expected to broadcast live from Community Missions, beginning at 5 a.m. We’re hoping they will also cover the event on their newscasts throughout the day, so be on the lookout.

Of course, you can once again take part by simply dining out. Nine local restaurants are now participating in Dining for Dollars (see the flyer below), as each will donate a portion of their sales to Community Missions! Pass the word on, and enjoy a good meal while doing some good!

Finally, please also consider making a donation yourself. Our online giving page for #GivingTuesday can be found here. If you are unable to give financially, consider volunteering with us. While we receive many volunteer requests during the holiday season, the first few months of the year are the most difficult for us. So sign up to volunteer today to help us out when we need it most.
