INGREDIENTS:
1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup colored sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Beat cream cheese and butter in a large bowl with a mixer until blended. Add granulated sugar and vanilla; mix well. Gradually add flour, beating well after each addition. Refrigerate for several hours or until chilled.
2. Heat oven to 350°F. Roll out dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes with 3- to 4-inch cookie cutters; sprinkle with colored sugar. Place, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets.
3. Bake 12 to 15 min. or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 2 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely and then ice with your desired frosting.
