Attention all hikers! Specifically, those who love long hikes. You’ll want to get your hiking boots ready!

According to WIVB, there is an 80-mile hiking trail in the works. It is intended to connect Buffalo to the southern tier.

GObike and Alta Planning and Design have teamed up to create this trail. The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation has also pledged its support.

The trail is expected to cost $100 to $110 million. It will start in Buffalo and will go across New York to the Town of Hinsdale in Cattaraugus County. Along its 80-mile trek, towns like Orchard Park, Springville, Ellicottville, and Salamanca will be connected.

It is their hope that construction will begin within the next five years. So maybe don’t get your hiking boots ready just yet! But we will certainly be checking out this trail when it opens.
